Attachment "B"
To
APPLICATION FOR SITE APPROVAL
Project Description
1) Description of the proposed project: This 3.34 acre site will be improved for use by
Trical, Inc., an agricultural soil fumigation business which services many local farmers.
Trical will use the site as a facility in which to park its soil fumigation equipment (truck, trailer
and tractor), store its soil fumigation materials (fumigants, plastic film, adhesive, diesel fuel),
wash dirt off its tractors between trips from one farmer's field to another's, and, to perform
routine servicing and minor repairs on its equipment. Major repairs to trucks and tractors will be
contracted out to local repair shops.
The proposed improvements include:
► Two 20-foot gates, for the existing, locked, perimeter chainlink fence.
► Asphalt and base rock paving for automobiles, trucks, trailers, tractors and material
storage areas.
► One 4,900 square foot metal building for use as an office, a restroom, an employee
lounge, a small tools and parts storage room, and, an equipment servicing and repair
shop.
► A tank for storage of fire protection water.
► A concrete wash pad for washing dirt off of tractors with on-site disposal of dirt and
water(Note: there will be no oil, grease or pesticides in this water).
► A stormwater retention pond.
► A septic tank and leach lines.
The facility will have a low level of activity, being used mostly for parking of equipment and
storage of materials and supplies, since the purpose of the business is to provide agricultural soil
fumigation for farmers on their farms. To do this, Trical personnel will arrive at the site before
dawn to pick up their soil fumigation rigs and leave the facility. A soil fumigation rig is a truck
which carries soil fumigants, adhesive and plastic tarp, and, pulls a trailer on which a tractor is
carried. Each "rig" is operated by either a one or two-man crew, depending upon the type of
fumigation to be done. After completing the day's work, the crew returns the rig back to the
1
