323 West Elm Street
Lodi, California 95240
BAUMBACH & PIAZZA, 1 N C. Phone(209) 368-6618
April 23 , 1992 JOB NO. 8901
Mr . Bill DuBois
San Joaquin County Development Department
1910 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton , CA 95205
Re: EARLENE LUND, UP 92-7
24064 NORTH HIGHWAY 99, ACAMPO
Dear Bill :
The purpose of this letter is to request a redgction in
the safety factor for retention pond storage volume.
Ihy proposal is to construct a pond that will store 100%
of the existing runoff and 200% of the increased runoff
due to the proposed development . I have attached my
calculations and a work sheet for the proposed plan . A
summary of the drainage calculations is as follows :
Total Runoff Volume - Existing Condition = 7 ,900 C.F .
Total Runoff Volume - Developed Condition = 11 ,050 C.F .
Increase in Runoff Due to Development = 3 , 150 C. F .
200% of Increased Runoff = 6 ,300 C .F .
Total volume to be stored = (6,300 + 7 , 900)
= 14 ,200 C.F.
The reasoning behind this proposal is as follows:
1 . The site now has terminal drainage for the
existing runoff to Jahant Slough ( about 1/4 mile
North) through a series of ditches and culverts
along the East Frontage Road .
2. The site is a rural site to be used as a vehicle
storage area . The grading can be designed such
that some runoff in excess of pond storage will be
temporarily contained in the storage area .
3. Runoff in excess of that contained as described
above , will flow to the existing ditch and culvert
system off-site . Such runoff would only occur
during a rainfall of greater than the 10 year - 24
hour storm used in design .
