`,, 1.0of
Mr. Sandi De Jong
September 25,2003
Page 9
Because the deep percolation test achieved a satisfactory percolation rate, the Site has met the
requirement for a satisfactory percolation rate with the use of seepage pits according to the
sewage standards of San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
( , Percolation Test Boring Locations
Two (2)percolation tests were performed on July 11, 2003, within an area described for the d 'W#"O"
septic_ system. One shallow and one deep percolation test boring were advanced in an area n '
indicated in Plate 1. (
✓6.2 Boring Preparation and Specifications
The shallow boring was advanced to 3.5 feet and the deep boring to 14.5 feet. All four borings
were drilled using a truck-mounted Deep Rock auger rig on July 10, 2003.
A 2-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of
water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of"pea gravel"were placed in the
bottom of the boring, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. Several feet of"pea
gravel'were backfilled in the annular space.
✓6.3 Presaturation of Borings
Presaturation of the percolation test holes occurred on July 10, 2003. The depth of water used to
presoak was 12 inches above the bottom of the borings. After the 24-hour soak period, the
presaturated holes were found to be intact and dry on July 11, 2003.
✓6.4 Percolation Test Procedure and Results
A percolation test was conducted on the shallow and deep boring on July 11, 2003 in accordance
with the requirements of San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division. The last half hour
of the 4-hour percolation tests was observed by Lisa Medina, Environmental Health Inspector, of
that office. The percolation test sheets indicate the property owner is Ray Thompson who was
the property seller in July when the percolation tests were performed.
. Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on
the PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of 1/1 00th foot.
