Ms.Lisa Medina
January 26,2004
Page 3
Responses, Nitrate Loading Study Check list:
3.5/3.6 Please refer to the revised nitrate loading calculation attached (Tables 3 and 4).
4.1/4.2 The revised nitrate loading calculation indicates an Nc number of 7.2 mg/L-N.
This number is below 10 mg/L-N and no mitigation is proposed at this time.
It is estimated that any further expansion of the facility will require a revised
nitrate loading estimate which will most likely require treatment to reduce total
nitrogen of the waste water.
Additional Recommendations
We recommend that the waste water be metered and reported during the water quality testing of
the well water. At a minimum, a water flow meter should be installed at the well head and
another meter be installed at the landscape irrigation flow pipe as a minimum. The difference
would be waste water and coffee product use. In addition, some thought and careful planning
should be made to optimize the site with respect to future development beyond the scope of this
Use Permit. Setting aside other areas that could be used for waste water disposal would be
prudent.
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions proposed
in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. This warranty is in
lieu of all other warranties either expressed or implied. Test findings and statements of
professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.
Best Regards,
NEIL O. ANDERSON &ASSOC., INC.
Davi J.
