Mr.Sandi pe Song October 10,2006 Page 3 3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity- In an attempt to dctert7uitle the septic system density for the vicinity of the Site, our office reviewed a recent actial photo provided by Google Earth. We counted the building clusters within one square mile of the Site, and made the assumption that each building cluster has one septic system. The result of the count indicates approximately 200 building clusters R-hich ma.V each utilise a septic system. In addition to the 300 building clusters, a 19 unit.mobile.home pack ex?sts less than 300 feet east of the site. All these smtctures are eetirnated to be utilizing a septic system. The general area consists of a subdivision to the northwest, a mobile park home to the east and agriculture to the northeast,and Southwest- 3.6 Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage Septic tank use will be from the commercial wine and cheese retail shop and coffee drive-thru. All ,,vaste from the cheese making facility will be hauled off site. The waste water will be generated from kitchen food production,kitchen utensil washing,restroom waste water generated by employees, and customer;restroonn use. In NOA's 2003 report,we recommended installing water flow meters to better calculate septic and non-septic water flow and usage. Mr. De Jong installed three meters on the site.The west teeter is used to mcasut;e all of the water: from the bathroom toilets and band washing sinks_The middle meter is used to measure all.off-site water,which uzcludes all wster that iS used to make drinks which are carried off site by custo.tners. Tlvs meter will not be used in our calculations because none of the water flows into the septic system. The east teeter is used to measure all non-restroom use flow,including the washing rznacbine,various sinks ui the kitchen and the dishwasher. Table 2. This figure is based on the septic and non-septic flow rates from the existing building over a 790 day period of water meter.readings.According to Mr.. De Jong, he expects to have a 50 percent increase in customer usage along with the increased usage for dae wall, water in the s=M cheese making facility.
