*MW
Mr. Sandi De Jong
October 10,2006
Page 6
4.6 Impact of Nitrate Loading to Nearby Water Sources
Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading balance indicates
that the proposed development on the proposed parcels should not cause a build up of nitrates in
the aquifer above 10 mg/L-N.
Since the Site is relatively flat,we do not predict that percolating effluent will affect any surface
water resources.
5.0 DISCUSSION OF NITRATE LOADING RESULTS
` 5.1 Total Nitrate Impact
Based on the method and assumptions described,it is our opinion that the nitrate loading
calculation of the proposed development on the parcel should not cause a build up of nitrate in the
ground water above 10 mg/L-N over the long term.
5.2 Methods of Mitigation
Because of the favorable result of the nitrate loading calculation, no mitigation measures are
warranted. All wastes associated with cheese making are to be hauled off the site.
r'6.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Our office concludes that the Site is suitable for development with the use of the existing system
system. All septic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater
Disposal Standards where applicable.
