The project, located at 25409 N.SR-99 E. Frontage
Rd in Acampo, proposes a General Plan Map Amendment to change two parcels totaling 3.0 acres
from Rural Service Commercial (C/RS)to Limited Industrial(I/L) and a Zone Reclassification to
change the zoning from Rural Service Commercial (C-RS)to Warehouse(I-W)
Upon review of the project, the Department has the following comments:
1. Although it is within the County's jurisdiction, the Department makes the following
suggestion to improve traffic flow, safety, operations, and reduce conflicts points:
The provided site plan and vicinity map do not show the adjacent street to the
proposed facility. Currently,Calimyrna Rd is adjacent to the facility. Based on traffic
access management approach,it is recommended that the proposed exit driveway lines
up with Calimyma Rd to a 4-leg intersection in order to reduce the roadway conflict
points.
2. The provided site plan indicates trucks parking at the proposed facility. At this time,
SR-99/Collier Rd interchange intersections are not approved for Terminal Access. Please
provide additional information as to the types of truck that are being utilized at this facility. If
STAA trucks are being generated in/out of the facility, the applicant is required to apply for
Terminal Access. Please refer to this website for more information:
hitp://www.dot.ca.gov/hg/traffopsArucks/routes/ta-process.htm
Please provide a copy of the request to the county and Caltrans District Office at the address
below:
Department of Transportation
Office of Traffic Operations
1976 E.
