(209)235-0600 • FAX(209)235-0433 San Joaquin County Airport Land Use Commission ALUC RESPONSE TO LOCAL JURISDICTION To: Megan Aguirre,San Joaquin County Community Development Department From: Laura Brunn,San Joaquin Council of Governments Date: September 16,2013 Project Title: PA-1300145,Gunter Truck Parking Facility Area of Influence,Airport:Stockton Metropolitan Arps Assessor Parcel Number(s): 17317132 Land Use Compatibility Zone: Horizontal and Status: Consistent Land Use with Conditions Conical Surface The project site is located within the Airport Influence Area (AIA) of Stockton Metropolitan Airport (SMA) and, pursuant to the State Aeronautics Act (Public Utilities Code Section 21676), the project is subject to a Consistency Determination by the San Joaquin County ALUC. LAND USE CONSISTENCY REVIEW This project includes a Site Approval application to allow for the expansion of an existing truck parking facility to allow for the parking of 11 trucks, 50 trailers, and the use of an existing 4,000 sq. ft.building for maintenance. The project is located within the Horizontal and Conical airport safety zones for SMA. The land uses proposed with the expansion are compatible with the 1993 Airport Land Use Plan for SMA. Metropolitan Airport. The following standards and project design conditions specific to compliance with the ALUCP which should be carried through as conditions of approval are as follows: 1. New land uses that may cause visual, electronic,or increased bird strike hazards to aircraft in flight shall not be permitted within any airport's influence area. Specific characteristics to be avoided include: o Glare or distracting lights which could be mistaken for airport lights. Reflective materials are not permitted to be used in structures or signs (excluding traffic directing signs); o Sources of dust, steam, or smoke which may impair pilot visibility; o Sources of electrical interference with aircraft communications or navigation. No transmissions which would interfere with aircraft radio communications or navigational signals are permitted.
