Shallow and deep percolation tests were conducted which represent leachlines and seepage pits,
respectively. On October 15, 2004, the percolation test borings were prepared with the B-24 Mobile
Drill Rig. After drilling the shallow test hole, the boring was scratched to open smeared soil surfaces
caused by the drilling process, and the loose soil material removed. It was not possible to scarify the
deep boring. The borings were covered with boards before the date of preparation.
On October 28 at 0800 hrs,the two perc test borings were prepared by inserting a three-inch O.D.
perforated pipe in each test boring after two inches of pea gravel was added. Both borings were
presaturated with 12 inches of clear water. Perc testing commenced on October 29 at 0830 hrs. There
was no standing water in the two perc test borings after the 24-hour pre-saturation period. Each boring
was perc tested for four hours in conformance with S.J.C. Policy EHD 02-02,Procedure No. 2.
The shallow soils and the deeper soils demonstrated marginally acceptable percolative capacity at the
end of the four-hour perc test.
The perc test results are summarized below:
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
p PERC TEST DEPTH POST-SOAK PERIOD PERC RATE IN MINUTES
STATUS PERINCH
40 Inch Depth No Standing Water 50.0 ndn/in
23 Feet Depth No Standing Water 27.3 min/in
D. GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
1. GROUNDWATER GRADIENT AND ANALYSES
y 0 The static water level under the center of the project is located approximately 63 feet below grade
according to the 1999 Lines of Equal Depth Map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
District.
The 1999 Lines of Equal Elevation map illustrate the groundwater to be approximately-32 ft MSL. The
1992 Lines of Equal Elevation map illustrates the groundwater to be-45 ft MSL. Therefore, the static
groundwater level appears to have risen 13 feet over this seven year time span.
LLwater
undwater directional flow is very gently in a north-northeasterly direction according to the
ual Elevation Contour map. The groundwater gradient to the east of the property is
at. The 1992 Equal Elevation Map indicates the groundwater flow also to the north-
ple was obtained from the"east'domestic well. The sample was taken from a hose bibb on
e line. A plastic bottle was used for the nitrate and total alkalinity sample.
5
Chesney Consulting
