INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to create four 2 acre parcel and one remainder parcel from a 14f
r
acre parcel. In accordance with the San Joaquin County Development Title, this Surface and
Subsurface Contamination Report (SSCR) is being submitted for application with the tentative
map. This report will investigate the property for visual or historical environmental
contamination based on field observation and testimony from the owners.
Project Description
The project consists of one parcel located at 22350 E. Navarro Court, Linden, CA. The project is
in a rural residential area. It is zoned r-r. There are no homes on this site. See tentative map
included in the appendix.
The proposed parcel has historically been grazing land.
r
Proiect History
The primary source of information on the historical use of the property is testimony from the
owners and records from the County(San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office
and the San Joaquin County Contaminated Site List). The Gill family has owned the property
for approximately four years. This property and all surrounding properties have had consistent
uses in the time Mr. Gill has owned the property. Consistant uses include grazing and rural
residences.
_
A review of County Records for the past four years (see Apendix) yielded no contamination
concerns. The property owners also stated that there have been no groundwater concerns during
their ownership.
A review of County Records from the Agricultural Commissioners office yielded no chemicals
used on the parcel (see Appendix). Since the property has not been farmed, there was no
chemical use history expected.
A review of Environmental Health Department records yielded no septic issues within one
quarter mile of the site.
Field Investieation
The following information was obtained during a field investigation of the site as well as
interviewing the property owner Daljit Gill. The field investigation and interview occurred in
July, 2004, by Joe Murphy.
As previously stated, the site is a bare lot. Chemicals have not been used on the property.
According to the owner, Mr. Gill, there are no buried tanks on the property. There are no visual
signs of any such tanks (ground settling, irregular ground, etc.)
1
CA0466Surface and Subsurface Report
