M
CITY OF STOCKTON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
City Hall • 425 N. EI Dorado Street • Stockton, CA 95202-1997 • 209 /937-8266 • Fax 209/937-8893
www.stocktongov.com
May 28, 2010
Kevin Swanson
San Joaquin County Community Development
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
A SITE APPROVAL APPLICATION TO INSTALL AN 85 FOOT MONOPOLE
COMMUNICATION TOWER WITH SEVEN CABINETS AT SITE LOCATION
2236 S. NETHERTON AVENUE APN 173-060-22 (UP) PA-1000099
City of Stockton Planning & Engineering staff reviewed the subject application and offer the
following comment:
1. The proposed driveway access should be improved to standard and on-site travel way,
including the proposed turnaround area, should be paved with asphalt or concrete to ensure
that vehicles exiting the site onto public streets are track and dust free. Improvements
should conform to City of Stockton Standards.
2. Based on the proposed 85-foot height and location in a residential zoning district, the
proposed communication tower is considered a Major Communication Facility and would not
be permissible, under applicable provisions of the Stockton Municipal Code. In order to
comply with applicable City development standards, the tower should be reduced to a
maximum of 75 feet in height and incorporate "stealth" design elements to reduce its visual
impact upon the surrounding area. In addition, ground-mounted equipment and facilities
should be screened from the view of adjacent property and rights-of-way.
We appreciate the opportunity to comment on this application.
MICHAEL M.
