ANDERSON - WIRTH
CONSTRUCTION CO.
MARINE CONSTRUCTION- LAND DEVELOPMENT
' P. O. BOX 208
BETHEL ISLAND, CALIFORNIA 94411
(413)684-2049
WES ANDERSON JOE WIRTH, CIVIL ENGINEER
GENERAL ENGINEERING CONTRACTOR ENGINEERING - LAND SURVEYING
REGISTERED BUILDING DESIGNER NO. 17 LICENSE NO. 18876
LICENSE NO. 209017
seems to be created by the boat operator who thinks that he may
travel at an unrestricted speed when his boat is more than 200 ft
from a dock, irregardle^s of the damage caused by his boat wake.
The law states that a boat operator is liable for any damage
caused by the wake of his boat irregardless of location or speed
of his vessel. The prudent boat operator should and will watch
his wake and will not create other problems caused by excessive
Sneed.
Most Counties have found it necessary to install speed signs
in their waterways, and maintain Shuriff 's patrol boats to inforce
the safety laws.
The last paragraph of the above said D.N.O.D. letter states,
"cost of the waterway shorelines should remain undeveloped".
All regulatory agencies agree that marinas should be grouped
Li: one locationif possible and not spread out intermittently
along waterways.
It was with this parrlose in mind that a map entitled Waterway
Use 'Program-Sacto-San Joaquin Delta, was prepared by the State
of California,The Resources Agency, in September 1976. Said map
is color coded regarding allowable uses and was used as a guide
for the proposed development, Turner Cut is designated for
intensive use and the proposed project conforms with the
requirements of this classification. It is very difficult to
understand how a marina 350 feet in length owned by one person is
any less detrimental than three .caritas of-med by different persons,
that could total 1050 feet.
I believe that the important roint to consider is that the
development site conforms with the State Waterways Use Program at
this location, and that the facilities are needed and required
by the boating public, and that the .renuested water frontage is
required for a commercially feasible facility,
U.S. CofE lett-r doted FebruarT 16 1978:
A worm, perm . applTcon has been iled :-rit 1 the Sacto.
Dist.
