In the report, we indicated that "NOA is concurrently preparing a
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for the Site; the assessment has identified an open
leaking underground storage tank case to the northwest of the Site; ground water in the area
has been impacted."
The Phase I report has since been completed (E07191A, November 2007). The section of the
Phase I which refers to this nearby facility is included here for your reference:
Facility Name Location(miles) Database Comments
Gillies Trucking Adjacent to LUST* According to the most recent quarterly monitoring report'
3931 Newton Rd. Nbv available from GeoTradcer, groundwater at this site flows
primarily to the east, toward the subject property. Diesel
and gasoline underground storage tanks were removed in
1989, and diesel was found to be the primary contaminant.
Diesel was detected at 177 pg/L within the monitoring well
closest to the subject property In July 2007. A8liough this is
a very low level of diesel, the report notes that the dlesel
Concentration has Increased In that well over time,
"suggesting that the plume is generally attenuating and
being diluted as hydrocarbons diffuse outward from the
center." It appears that this well has never been tested for
gasoline or related additives;most of the other monitoring
wells located within the same aquifer have Similarly never
been tested. Records for this site were reviewed at the EHD
on November 28,2007. In two letters dated June 6 and
October 31.,2007,the EHD expressed its concern about the
I Upgradient Environmental Consultants, 2007, Second Quarter 2007 Report, Gillies Trucking.
ANGELS CAMP • LODI MODESTO • RENO • SACRAMENTO • WALNUT CREEK
LODI 902 Industrial Way Lodi,CA 95240 • 209.367.3701 • FAX 209-369.4228 • www.noandemon.com
