M K L E I N F E L D E R
SJEHD comments: A description of the location of the site well as well as the type and
construction of the well itself is required.
Response: The location of the site well has been included on Plate 1 (attached). A permit
was on file with SJCEHD for the construction of the domestic well (Permit No. 75-80W).
The well excavation is reported to be 10 inches in diameter and approximately 150 feet in
depth. The well is composed of a 6-inch diameter casing with a grout seal that extends to a
depth of 50 feet. A copy of the permit is attached.
4.4 Description of constituents being tested for in the water sample.
SJEHD comments: Water samples were not analyzed for General Minerals and Nitrates as
NO3 as required by Land Use Condition C.
Response: Additional water samples were obtained from the site well and analyzed for
General Minerals, please see results (attached). Water samples in the above referenced
report were analyzed for Nitrates as N. The following conversion factor may be used to
convert Nitrates as N to Nitrates as NO3:
(Nitrate as NO3) * 0.2258 =Nitrate as N
Where:
N= 6.6 mg/L (value obtained from above referenced report)
Our calculation is as follows:
Nitrate as NO3=(Nitrate as N)/0.2258
Nitrate as NO3= (6.6 mg/L)/0.2258
Nitrate as NO3=29.22 mg/L
We appreciate the opportunity to provide our services for this project. We note that the
Limitations section of our original report, referenced above, still applies. If you have questions
regarding this letter or if we may be of further assistance, please contact our office.
Respectfully submitted,
ESS!
EINI EVEIC.
