` 5.2 Description of soil profile pit including depth and dimensions: The shallow test hole was
prepared per County Standards. The hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches in
diameter. It was then backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel."
5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
` industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as San Joaquin Complex as stated
in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States Department
of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The San Joaquin Complex
has very slow permeability thus percolation rates were moderate as demonstrated by the passing
of shallow percolation test. (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: One shallow percolation test hole was prepared. No deep percolation tests were necessary.
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches
in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards.
The shallow hole was prepared by Mike Toy of Dillon &Murphy on November 21, 2008. On
November 24, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The hole was filled with
12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time Environmental Health Department was notified
of the start of the test.
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole,Etc.): On
November 25, 2008 the shallow test hole was dry. Six inches of water was added and
the holes were deemed suitable to continue. The shallow test passed the minimum County
requirements.
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth, diameter,
2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation test conformed to
San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02,
L 6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
L
SHALLOW TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 50 MINJIN.
3
c:W859'Soil Report 1208
