SOUTH
w SAN aJ0AQUIN
IRRIGATION DISTRICT
' ECEIVEC
AUG 10 2000
Community tleve10pg1ent 11ept
August 8, 2000
San Joaquin. County
Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Attn: Jim Van Buren
Subject: Application No: LA-00-57
APN: 245-040-03
Owner: Mary Henry Trust
Dear Mr. Van Buren:
The South San Joaquin Irrigation District owns, operates and maintains irrigation and/or drainage
facilities which may provide service to the property described in the subject application.
When property boundaries are changed, it is likely to affect the current method of water billing
and water delivery. hi some cases, the District will no longer be able to provide irrigation service
unless certain provisions are made to extend or relocate facilities to accommodate the newly
established parcels. Further conflicts could occur if these parcels are sold or transferred to others
without provisions for irrigation service.
Based upon the information provided in the referral, it is difficult to determine the effect, if any,
that the adjusted lot lines will have upon the District's ability to continue to service the newly
configured parcels. As such, it is recommended that the applicant/owner contact the District,
prior to the completion of the process, to determine the necessity for changes to the existing
infrastructure, or easements in order to accommodate the proposed boundary changes. The
applicant/owner will need to provide information concerning any changes in the method in which
the adjusted parcels will be irrigated and may need to obtain a structure permit if new
connections are necessary. If irrigation service is no longer possible, or desired, the owner may
want to sign a service abandonment agreement which could record concurrently with the lot line
adjustment in order to avoid water charges for property not capable of receiving water service.
11011 East Highway 120, Manteca, CA 95336-9750 9 Phone 209/823-3101 • F AX 209/823-8406
