during his lifetime; prior to his family's ownership, it was a dairy. The house, barn, and
office were present on the Site in 1949, he said; the modular home was placed there in
approximately 1980. According to Mr. Tavares, the small extension on the south side of
the barn is a milk barn for the old dairy; the old concrete extending to the east of the
barn was a feeding area for the cattle. Two additional modular homes were placed on
the Site many years ago for his brother and sister to live in, he said; these were just
north of the existing modular home. Each home had its own septic system. Mr.
Tavares indicated that both homes were removed prior to the most recent orchard
planting, and the septic systems were properly destroyed.
Mr. Tavares indicated that a domestic well and an irrigation well are present on the Site,
The domestic well was recently tested for microbial contaminants and found to be clean,
Imre said. The above-ground diesel storage tank at the irrigation well was used by a
former lessee, and that person will be removing it soon, he said. Mr. Tavares indicated
that just south of the irrigation well is a "fill-in station" for filling equipment with water.
Regarding the plastic drums in the pole barn, Mr. Tavares indicated that his brother
acquired there with the plan to sell them as trash cans. They have never been used for
chemical storage, he indicated. Agricultural chemicals were stored in the big barn over
30 years ago,. he said, but the current orchard lessees keep all the chemicals off-site.
Mr Tavares was not aware of any underground storage tanks, automotive maintenance
activities, dumping, or other environmental hazards on or adjacent to the Site.
6.0 SITE DOCUMENTS
6.1 Environmental Health Department Records
_the EHD was contacted regarding the Site addresses of 19642. 19654, and 19666
South North Ripon Road.
