Message Page 1 of 1
Rodney Estrada [EH]
From: Chuck Farano [cfarano@sjgov.org]
Sent: Wednesday, February 13, 2008 11:03 AM
To: Tom Gau; Kerry Sullivan; Michael Chung; Mike Huggins; Rich Laiblin [CAO]; Rodney Estrada;
Steven Hicks [AIR]; Mike Ehret
Subject: SMADRC (PA-0800043)
To All,
By now you should have received the referral for the change of use of the two buildings that front the proposed
Northrop St,just north of the approved Buzz Oates development. You can see there are obvious problems with
the project.
There is a SMADRA committee meeting scheduled for 2-27-2008. As you can see the site plan does not clearly
show the location of the improvements of Northrop St. I think it was made clear, when reviewing the Oates
project, Northrop ST was 100% within the Walter's leasehold. I believe Barry did convince Oates to take a portion
of the right of way easement on his leasehold. I also think Barry agreed to defer the improvements until this
property was ready to develop. Furthermore, I think Barry did agree to a smaller right of way then detailed in the
plan.
As you can see, Walter's did not clearly show where, within his leasehold, the improvements will lay out. I do not
know if Walters even knows where and what type of improvements he will be responsible to construct.
These questions will important to the review process. I would suggest that the responsible party research the
proposed location of the required improvements as they relate to the boundaries of Walter's leasehold. It may also
be valuable to take some time to visit the site before the meeting.
Remember the proponents will be in attendance on the 27th. If there is any questions about Northrop by those
responsible, you may want to discuss your issues before the meeting so that the proponents are given clear
direction by the committee.
See you all at 2:00 Wednesday the 27th of February in CDD conference room A .
Chuck
2/26/2008
