Country Club Blvd.
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Burgess,
Per our conversation on September 5, 2002, we are providing you with a revised drawing
for the subject septic system. Our office understands you desire to change the width of the septic
system filter bed from 28 feet to 26 feet. The change in width is necessary so that the proposed
system will fit into a confined area due to the house moving 2 feet south. The revised
calculation$ and drawings are attached to this letter.
The absorption area for the filter bed was originally determined to be 2,757 ft' (100 ft x
28 ft area) which includes a 1.5 factor of safety for spill over protection. By reducing the filter
bed width from 28 feet to 26 feet, the total bed area becomes 2,600 ft' (100 ft x 26 ft). The factor
of safety for the 2,600 ft' filter bed is 1.4. The proposed change in width from 28 feet to 26 feet
is acceptable to our office. Our office will require the distribution system of the original design
to be changed and upgraded slightly. Please note the changes on the attached drawing.
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions
proposed in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. This
warranty is in lieu of all other warranties either expressed or implied. Test findings and
statements of professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or
implied.
Best Regards,
NEIL O.
