PLANNING DIVISION
Stockton, CA 95219
(209)465-6070
Dear Lorna:
Thanks for your letter of August 7, 1995. It sounds like things are
moving forward with our application. Let me respond to your questions.
In number 1 you ask about San Joaquin County's position on the
project. Our public notice (SA 95-29) went out, and we were told the whole
process should take until mid-September. The staff person handling the
project at the County level is Chandler Martin who you can reach at 209-468-
3190. I'll keep you posted on the progress with the county.
In questions two and three you ask for information on the boats
including the CF numbers, how many are tied to each dock, the status of their
mobility and which types of septic systems we use. All of this information can
be found in the chart attached here. All of our docks have one boat tied to
thein except for F dock which has a boat on either end and H dock which
houses three boats. There are also some little runabouts tied next to the larger
boats. The "use area" next to the docks is accurately described by the
"navigation line" which you can find our Army Corps permit drawings. The
boats occupy the space between the edge of the dock and the navigation line.
Let me describe the four sewage systems in use at our marina. The first
is the conventional pump out system where sewage is contained in a holding
tank which is pumped periodically. The three boats which use this system are
all mobile. Two boats use another system called an Electrosands® which in
essence electrocutes the waste until it turns to ashes. Another system is a
suitcase toilet where the user contains his/her waste in a portable unit that
they dump periodically at an RV disposal site. The Micropore® system is a
composting/digesting system. Then there are the two boats tied up to dock F
which have no systems because the occupants use the bathroom in the
cottage.
In question four you ask for maps depicting the docks in relationship to
our property lines and for a legal description of the area to be leased. The best
map I know of describing the property lines is the aerial photograph with the
overlay done by your boundary office. The next best map is the little multi-
colored 8"x10" I sent you when we were originally discussing our property
