The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the USDA Web <br /> z Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California to be composed of Acampo sandy loam, <br /> Devries sandy loam, and Tokay fine sandy loam (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). The borings were four inches in diameter, 3.35 <br /> to 3.50 feet deep, and were excavated by hand auger. The locations of the borings are <br /> indicated on Plate 9. <br /> The soil in the borings was similar to that described by the Soil Survey. In borings P1 <br /> and P2, sandy sit was encountered to the full depth of each hole. In boring P3, silty fine <br /> sand was encountered to the full depth of the hole.
