LOGE 1726: Phillips/Michael David NLS Addendum Page 10
September 20, 2017
• CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, the soil conditions examined near the proposed septic system drain field for the
production office facility appear to be suitable. A satisfactory soil percolation rate of 1.6
minutes per inch was observed.
Septic system construction utilizing leach lines or a filter bed should follow the San Joaquin
County On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards (2016) where applicable. Based on the
guidance within this document, a percolation rate between 1 and 5 min/in requires 20 feet
minimum separation from the bottom of the dispersal system to ground water. In the original
Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study (2015), Live Oak estimated depth to ground water at 25 to
31 feet below ground surface on the Site. This separation would allow for a standard system.
Based on the proposed uses reported, the use of on-site septic tanks and drain field systems on
the Site is not expected to cause a buildup of nitrate in the aquifer above 5.0 mg/L-N. This level
falls below the US EPA drinking water recommendation of 10 mg/L-N.
We believe the Site suitable for the use of standard septic systems. We do not anticipate that
the ground water quality will be negatively impacted, and no nitrate mitigation is recommended.
Sincerely,
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
• /
NAL
Abigail
gF
Abigail cco, Environmental Professional
4 DAVID J.WELCH
N0.2151
CERTIFIED
ENGINEERING
David Welch, Engineering Geologist GEOLOGIST \P
CEG-2151, CHG-653, PGP-1049 TFOFCALIFO\
CC: Elwyn Heinen
Advanced Design Group
11286 Ih St.
Modesto, CA 95354
Attachments:
Plate 1.
