2.2 Proposed„Development
It is proposed to split the Site into one 5.0-acre homesite parcel and one 35-acre
designated remainder. A new residence may be constructed in the future; there are no
immediate plans to build_ The tentative map is presented as Plate 4 in Appendix 1.
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the /
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open J
agricultural land with five structures along its eastern side. The property is
approximately 20 feet above mean sea level and relatively flat. Surrounding properties
are primarily shown to be open agricultural land and vineyards. Turner School is
depicted to the immediate south, and several commercial structures are shown south of
Turner Road. This map is included as Plate 5 in Appendix 1.
3,0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1940,
1952, 1963, 1975, and 1983. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998 and
June 2007, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1940 photo, the Site appears to be irrigated pasture or fodder crops. Three (2 . JJ
structures (a house, an agricultural building, and a shed west of the agricultural building)
can be seen on the eastern side of the Site. Several irrigation ditches can be seen on
the Site. Railroad tracks define the western property line. Surrounding properties
appear to be vineyards, irrigated pasture, and rural residences_
In the 1952 photo, two additional structures can be seen, one on each side of the
agricultural building. New commercial structures can be seen to the south of the Site,
across Turner Road.
The quality of the 1963 photo is better than the previous ones, and it is now possible to
see three additional structures near the residence; it is unclear whether these were
present before. Turner School can be seen to the southeast of the Site.
In the 1975 photo, the configuration of the irrigation ditches on the Site has changed.
In the 1983 photo, no significant changes are apparent.
LOGE 1111 Page 2
i
s
