Reid (addition)
Consists of 1 -70 ' leach line and 1331lx25 ' pit , installed in 1973 •
EXISTING LAND USE
The existing land use , except for the homesite , is pasture . Previous
lard use also appears to have been pasture . No irrigation system
was observed .
SOILS
The soils map from the "Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California"
indicates that the soil type for this property is San Joaquin Sandy
Loam.
Typically, the surface layer is brown sandy loam . The upper part of
the subsoil is a claypan of brown clay. The lower part is a brown and
light brown indurated hardpan .
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the test results and the performance of the existing septic
systems in the area, it is my opinion that the subject parcels are
suitable for the existing and proposed future septic systems .
Although one test indicated that a smaller leach field could be
used , it is recommended that the largest area be used for all the
parcels .
Since the depth to groundwater is 150 ' ± , based on San Joaquin County' s
semi-annual groundwater report , and the maximum depth of dry wells
is 251 , per San Joaquin County ordinance , the dry wells (pits ) will
be well above the groundwater elevation.
Based on this information , the existing and proposed future septic
