SITE BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> APN: 183-320-22 <br /> This site is located at 651 S. Reid Ave.This parcel was purchased by the current owner in <br /> 1967 and has been utilized as pasture. A pole-type barn exists on the parcel. In 1997 a permit was <br /> obtained to use Roundup for weed control. There is an irrigation well on APN 183-320-21 which <br /> has supplied water to the barn. See photo No. "D" for the well. The typical pasture is shown in <br /> photo No. "A"and the pole barn in"B"& "C". This parcel is at the end of the road and there is <br /> no turn-around. Very little traffic is on this section of Reid Avenue. The parcel has not been <br /> ripped but has been disced. On-site septic supports the residence on APN 183-320-21. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: <br /> This study is to identify recognized environmental conditions which may have a presence or <br /> likely presence of any hazardous substances or petroleum products on that certain parcel(s)of <br /> land being subdivided. The owner, Bob Scheppman, has completed the Environmental <br /> Questionnaire and it is included in this study. The existing well is 260'deep. The S.J. County <br /> Map showing lines of equal depth to water wells show 160'near this parcel. Septic systems on- <br /> site are required in this area. The parcel size is 20+acres. <br /> No manufacturing or industrial operations are near the site. Two gravel pits show on the <br /> USGS map about 1 mile distant from the site. The 90' contour is located in the west portion of <br /> the parcel. The land in general slopes to the west, There are no drainage swales thru the property. <br /> SOIL DESCRIPTION <br /> This area is described in the General Soil Map of San Joaquin County as poorly drained soil, <br /> fine textured and hard pan. Mr. Scheppman stated he added an additional pit about 20 years ago <br /> at his residence on APN 183-320-21. While poorly drained soil does not preclude residential <br /> developement, it does require adequately prepared soil in the proposed leach field area. The <br /> proposed 2 acre sites will have adequate room for the leach field and an on-site well. The site is <br /> located in the Red Zone per map by the Environmental Health Department of San Joaquin <br /> County. A special requirement applies in that a test hole depth of 25 feet is required, or a stratum <br /> that meets the minimum percolation for pit testing. At the time of developement, it may be <br /> desirable to rip the leach field to a depth of 4', both ways. <br />
