The use <br /> reports do not include chemicals for which a permit is not required. <br /> L <br /> According to EXTOXNET,permethrin is a broad-spectrum synthetic pyrethroid insecticide <br /> classified in all products as an RUP. This chemical is moderately toxic to mammals and birds,but <br /> extremely toxic to aquatic species and bees. Permethrin is of low to moderate persistence in soils <br /> with a half life of 30-38 days. In water half lives have been reported less than 2.5 days. This chemical <br /> degrades rapidly in water and can persist in some sediment. <br /> According to EXTOXNET,azinphos-methyl is a highly persistent,broad spectrum insecticide. It is <br /> a member of the organophosphate class of chemicals. The half-life in sandy loam soil is 5 days. <br /> r' Azinphos-methyl is eliminated in feces and urine of mammals within 2 days of administration. <br /> According to the PMEP, fenpropathrin has a reported half-life of 33 to 34 days under aerobic soil <br /> conditions. "The end-use product (Danitol 2.4 EC Spray) has moderate to low acute oral, dermal, <br /> inhalation and eye/skin irritation toxicity." <br /> %W According to EXTOXNET, diazinon is an organophosphate insecticide classified as slightly toxic to l <br /> moderately toxic, depending on the formulation. Its average half-life in soil is two to four weeks. <br /> Diazinon has been detected in 54 wells in California. <br /> According to EXTOXNET,paraquat is a quaternary nitrogen herbicide classified as an RUP and a <br /> highly toxic compound in EPA toxicity class I. Many cases of illness and/or death have been <br /> reported in humans. The compound is moderately toxic to birds and many aquatic organisms. The <br /> chemical is highly persistent in the soil environment,with reported field half-lives of greater than <br /> 1000 days.
