The revised Study takes into consideration land owned nearby the dairy
site and property surrounding the dairy site.
In the Study, groundwater sampling of nearby wells reported acceptable nitrate levels
except for the well at S8-1 on Van Allen road. Environmental Health Department has the
following requirements pertaining to that groundwater well. That well shall be re-
sampled by a State Approved Laboratory by August 1, 2002. The results of that
sampling shall be submitted to EHD. The Faria Dairy shall provide notification to the
residents of that water supply concerning the elevated levels of nitrates. Should the
resident(s) be employees of the Faria Dairy, then bottled water shall be provided in
accordance with Federal and State Laws. Based on the results of the follow up nitrate
sampling,EHD may require calendar, quarterly sampling of that Van Allen well.
Environmental Health Department is required to recover costs associated with this on-
going activity per Board of Supervisors Order#B-90-620. The EHD will be billing for
actual time spent monitoring, reporting, and recording your data and any enforcement
action(s)required.
In accordance with the conditions of approval for SA-01-23, the Faria Dairy is to contact
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board in regards to filing a Report of
Waste Discharge. EHD will need verification of this activity prior to final occupancy
approval.
