Phase /The site improvements include two new settling ponds for effluent from the flush system, two
manure solids storage areas, building the banks of the existing dairy water ponds and the banks
for the new settling ponds; excavating the pad and constructing a new 420' long freestall barn.
Phase 11—
The site improvements include the expansion of existing lagoon, excavating the pad and
constructing a new 420' long freestall barn, approximately 20' east of the freestall barn built in
Phase I.
The projected capacity required at this facility (based on a seven month storage of manure
effluent, milk parlor water and rainfall runoff) to ensure the maximum volume can be retained on
site is 7,946,389 gallons (Phase 1), 9,329,429 gallons (Phase II); and adding the average 12
inches annually of rainfall plus 3.4 inches from a 25 year 24 hour storm is 823,2572 gallons
(Phase 1), 1 ,197,1602 gallons (Phase 11), resulting in a total volume of manure effluent to be
10,856,061 gallons (Phase 1), 12,390,103 gallons (Phase 11).
Storage Capacity
*Notes:
1. Capacity includes storage for one settling pond, in lieu of two ponds. The design of settling
ponds is to retain the solids, and the liquids will overspill from one pond to the other; then
to the flush lagoon. Therefore, both ponds will never be full simultaneously. Refer to
Effluent Calculations, Appendix Vl.
2. Roof water runoff is diverted from manure effluent storage system.
Description of the Vicinity:
The existing site is two parcels, APN #205-130-07, which is 155.29 acres, and APN#205-140-07.
which is 40 acres for the total of 195.29 acres; both in San Joaquin County. Refer to USGS Map,
Appendix IB.
