Rond Road Page 3
Our Project Number: E07025A
March 15, 2007
In the 1983 and 1993 photos, the subject property and the vicinity are relatively unchanged
from the previous photo.
These photos are included in Appendix C of this report. NOA's ability to interpret the land
uses is limited by the scale and quality of the photos.
2.3 USGS Topographic Maps
The topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S. Geological Survey,
Thornton, California, quadrangle map. One 7.5-minute map dated 1978, was obtained from
Microsoft Terraserver.
In the 1979 map, several irrigation canals are depicted on the property. Peltier Road is to the
south, 1-5 to the east, and an aqueduct to the north. The property is depicted approximately
5 feet above mean sea level.
This map is included in Appendix C of this report.
2.4 Interviews
An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the
subject property from the property owner or key site manager of the property. An
Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement was completed by Jeffrey Klein,
owner of the subject project, on February 19, 2007. A copy of the responses has been
included in this report as Appendix E.
In responses to the questionnaire, Mr. Klein indicated that Richard Klein Family Limited Trust
has own the property since 1996. The property has always been used for farming. There are
no tanks or structures on the property.
3.0 PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
3. 1 Research Methods
NOA employs a standard practice for review of database information. On a street map
showing the location of the subject property, a circle is drawn one-quarter mile out from the
property boundaries, and street maps or web-based mapping services are then used to
determine address ranges for all streets within the quarter mile. All agency databases
searchable by address are then searched for these address ranges.
3.1.1 Regional Water Quality Control Board
NOA reviewed the Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST) list (January 2007), the Water
Purveyors Quarterly Report on MTBE (January 2007), and the Spills, Leaks, Investigations,
and Cleanups (SLIC) list (15` Quarter 2005) on file with the Central Valley Regional Water
NEIL 0 .
