Rond Road Page 8
Our Project Number: E07025A
March 15, 2007
• The property to the northeast is a dairy with dairy ponds.
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found,
however, to indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
The property to the northeast is a dairy with dairy ponds. High levels of nitrate and other
contaminants may be present.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject
property, meaningful conclusions regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be
determined without soil sampling and analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially
warranted in the conversion of agricultural land into residential use.
Should future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of
their drinking water, EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for
impacts to groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
If the property owner or the EHD are concerned about potential nitrate problems on the
subject property from the adjacent dairy, samples could be collected and analyzed to
determine soil and water quality.
The concrete and debris located at the southeast corner of the subject property should be
disposed appropriately.
As the site is developed, any stained soil or sources of contamination identified should be
characterized and properly disposed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
NEIL 0 .
