Sargent Rd., Lodi
The San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the above noted
Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study, submitted on May 28, 2004, and has determined the study
meets the minimum requirements of the San Joaquin County Development Title, Chapter 9-1105, and
that the following conditions apply:
Because of their unknown construction and likely improper siting, the use of the existing
on-site septic systems are not approved for this project at this time. To obtain approval,
the systems must be uncovered and inspected by EHD staff(consultation - $93.00) to
verify they meet the requirements of the San Joaquin County Sewage Standards (sewage
standards) for capacity, construction, and siting. Should the inspection show the systems
do not meet the requirements of the sewage standards, a new system must be proposed
and installed. Therefore, prior to final occupancy, a revised site plan must be submitted
to the EHD for review (liquid waste plan check- $186.00) and approval. The plan must
include a statement of the maximum number of employees the proposed sewage disposal
system will accommodate, a calculation showing the capacity required per number of users for
a commercial septic system, and the layout and siting of the system demonstrating compliance
with the Sewage Standards. The plan must also show the location of the required 100% future
repair area and that the leach field area will be barricaded so it cannot be driven over, parked
on, or used as a storage area. The leach field must be used for that specific purpose only, and it
cannot contain any underground utility lines.
The discharge of floor drain wastewater to the north on-site septic system is in violation of the
sewage standards and is prohibited. The discharge of floor drain wastewater to land (below
ground or pond) must be approved and permitted by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board. All discharges from the floor drain to the septic system must cease
immediately. The floor drain must be disconnected from the on-site sewage disposal
