The shelter for the dogs should be constructed in such a <br /> manner as to be easily accessible for clearing and ser- <br /> vicing. ,� <br /> d. Interior walls of the shelter and associated maintenance <br /> ~ - room should be an easily-cleanable finish, preferable f <br /> �•;�r' painted plaster or concrete. <br /> Y ..: e. The shelter floor and the immediate feeding area within <br /> pens or dog runs shall be of smooth concrete, coved on the <br /> edges and graded toward a floor drain leading to legal <br /> sewage disposal facilities. The remainder of each pen or dog run may be snooth earth- <br /> - pack, preferably covered with pea gravel to a depth of <br /> three inches. <br /> g. A convenient water supply and legal waste water disposal <br /> facilities shall be available for washing food preparation <br /> equipment, bathing of animals, and washing down shelters, <br /> pens, and dog runs. <br /> h. Animal food will be stored and fed in a manner which will <br /> not attract or serve as garbage or breeding sites for flies <br /> �. or rodents. <br /> r - i. The applicant shall demonstrate to the satisfaction of the <br /> Local Health District that he has appropriate facilities <br /> and means for daily cleaning and disposal of dog droppings <br /> from pens or shelter without creating a nuisance. The new <br /> kennel disposal must be in the septic or sewer system. <br /> j. Acceptable disposal includes wrapping in two (2) layers of <br /> ►"-~. paper and depositing in garbage can, burial under 18 inches <br /> E_ of tight soil, or flushing into sewer. <br /> k. Application for the permit and the fee mu=t be submitted to <br /> the Local Health District for operation. <br /> 3.
