Schulte Court, Tracy—APN 20-420-22 Dear Ms. Allen, The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (District) has reviewed the project referenced above and offers the following comments: The entire San Joaquin Valley Air Basin is designated non-attainment for ozone and particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5). This project would contribute to the overall decline in air quality due to increased traffic and ongoing operational emissions. There is currently not enough information for the District to adequately or accurately analyze the project for potential air quality impacts. Please provide the District with the following information: • The development stage of the project (i.e. are the buildings existing or in the construction phase) • Type of business moving into the space • Type of equipment used within the business • Size of business (i.e. building square footage, number of employees, etc.) With the requested change from Limited Industrial use to Intermediate Industrial use, the District is concerned with the possible increase in emissions from operations. The information will also aid in identification of any District rules and regulations that may be applicable to the particular business. Providing this information will allow the District to prepare a more detailed response, which may ultimately assist the applicant if District permits are needed, and/or to avoid District compliance action.
