INTRODUCTION
Purpose and Scope of Work
Green Mountain Engineering was authorized by The Mattos to prepare the Tentative
Map, conduct a Contamination Report (CR), and the Final subdivision Map. The
proposed Tentative Map is enclosed and submitted concurrently with the (CR). The CR
was conducted in an effort to identify the presence or likely presence of any hazardous
substances or petroleum products on the property under conditions that indicate a
release or impending release from current or past usage of the site and adjacent
properties. The parcel map will be completed in September 2003.
The assessment was accomplished by: 1) evaluating the potential for a release or
impending release of hazardous petroleum products onto the property based on
discernible visual and document present and historic uses of the property; and (2)
identifying any hazardous substances or petroleum products that may be present as a
result of such uses.
The tasks performed included the following:
1. A site reconnaissance to visually and physically observe the property for the
presence hazardous substances or petroleum products.
2. Review of reasonably ascertainable published geotechnical, hydro geologic and
geologic data.
3. Review of aerial photographs from various collections.
4. Review of reasonably ascertainable governmental records listing facilities within
one mile of the site which store or use reportable quantities of hazardous or
potentially hazardous substances, hazardous waste and/or petroleum products.
5. Interview with the property owners and site visit
6. Preparation of this report presenting findings, conclusions and recommendations.
Limitations
The findings and conclusions presented in this assessment are based solely on the
scope of work described above, on our professional interpretation of the information
described above, and are intended to address the potential for the release or impending
release of hazardous substances or petroleum products on the property at the time of
performance of this assessment. Subsurface exploration, geologic mapping, asbestos
surveying and laboratory testing of soil or water samples were not performed in
connection with the assessment. Accordingly, the conclusions in this report represent
our opinion as to the potential for a release or impending release of hazardous
substances or petroleum products onto the property. Subsurface exploration, sampling
and laboratory testing should be performed if it is deemed necessary to or required to
