kn KLEINFELDER
1n •i„p;n<<•..,,,, —) ;v,p,mv
File No. 22276.G01
November 5, 2002
Mr. Greg Wright
W.J. Development
940 East Harney Lane
Lodi, CA 95240
Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
ANDERSON STREET SUBDIVISION
CLEMENTS, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Wright:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for a
proposed subdivision to be located east of the intersection of Anderson and Almond Streets in
Clements, California. The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property
for septic tank usage. The study was performed in general accordance to the requirements of
Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County Ordinance. The following includes background
information regarding the proposed development, present use of the site, and the groundwater
depth in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our investigative procedures and the
site conditions encountered during our field exploration and the results of percolation tests are
presented. Finally, the results of our nitrate loading calculations and project limitations are
provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 9.1-acre project site will be divided into five
parcels for single family homes. We understand that San Joaquin County will allow two homes
to be placed on each parcel. Accordingly, our analysis is based on the assumption that ten homes
may be constructed within the subdivision. The site is currently vacant, with minor earthwork
operations taking place in preparation for the planned residences. An old brick-lined cistern was
recently removed from the top of the hill in the eastern portion of Parce 3.
e
We anticipate that waste disposal for the homes will be provided by individual on-site sewage
disposal systems consisting of a septic tank/leach trench sewage disposal system with seepage
pits.
22276.G01/ST02R677 November 5,2002
©2002 Kleinfelder,Inc.
