This is with reference to the minor subdivision application in the
above matter. The application is to subdivide a 371 acre parcel to the south and southeast of my
client's property, into six (6)parcels approximately 61.8 acres in size, each. Please accept this as
the objection of my client to the proposed subdivision.
As I am sure you are aware, the applicant's property is presently zoned for general
agric»1_hre, with z 4.0-acre minimum. The predominant land use in the area is agricultural. and
that is the use of the Solan Ranch.
The proposed subdivision will divide the property into parcels more suitable for and
conducive to development for residential purposes. This leads to an unavoidable conflict with
agricultural operations. Furthermore, this leads to the further decrease in farmland, in an area
that should be dedicated to agricultural uses. The need to protect agricultural lands is more
critical now than it has ever been in the past, and this will certainly continue in the future.
Ordinary farming operations are conducted at various times of the day and night. Aerial
applications of fertilizers and pesticides are accepted and common but are a frequent source of
complaints from residential users. Similarly, the dust and noise of normal farming operations
can he nrohlematic fnr the racranti o
