RECEIVED
JUN 1 1990
10991 E. Southland Rd. SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Manteca, CA 95336 PLANNING DIVISION
May 31, 1990
SAN JOAQ.UIN COUNTY PLANNING DIVISION
1810 East Hazelton
Stockton, CA 95205
To: Planning Commission
Subject: Environmental concerens of USE PERMIT APPLICATION
# UP-90-18 .
This letter is to inform you that I do not recommend the
the building of a 325-seat church on a 5-acre parcel
near the corner of Southland and Austin roads_ I
further oppose the minor subdivision to divide the
39. 4-acre parcel into a 34. 4-acre parcel and a 5-acre
parcel on which to build the church_ The address of this
property is 10221 E_ Southland Road, Manteca CA 95336,
(application # MS-90-86) -
I own property with almond trees on this road near the
proposed project and do not wish to have a church built
around the area I live_ The building of a 325-person
church will greatly interfer with the farming of nearby
farmers. Us farmers can not regulate our spraying
patterns to the benefit of this church: We need to
spray when it is necessary to the almond trees--not when
it is convenient to the church. There would also be a
problem during the harvesting of the almonds. During
harvest time, there is a great deal of noise, dust, and
rattling of nearby houses and buildings from the farm
equiptment. The harvesting of almonds usually last an
entire month to complete. This will definitly have an
impact on the current church site, since it is currently
surrounded by almond trees on three sides, with the
owner of the fourth side planning on planting almond
trees in the near future .
The current church site is part of a crop producing
almond orchard. In order to build the church, many of
the almond trees will be cut down. I feel this is a
