Box 181
Wallace, CA
Regarding: Water Testing Results
Balogh/Kent Property Soil Suitability Study
19625 N. Southworth Rd., Lodi, CA (APN 023-260-01)
PA-1300176
Ms. Balogh and Ms. Kent:
We have received the analytical results for the water sample collected on your property as part
of the above Soil Suitability Study. Details of the sample collection were included on page 4 of
the report.
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) was not detected in the sample. DBCP is a nematocide and soil
fumigant for vegetables and grapes. Most domestic use of DBCP was discontinued in 1977
through 1979. The US EPA set the MCL at 0.2 parts per billion (ppb, equivalent to pg/L)
because it believes that given present technology and resources, this is the lowest level to
which water systems can reasonably be required to remove this contaminant should it occur in
drinking water. The Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG) for DBCP is zero.
Nitrate was detected at a concentration of 25.6 mg/L-NO3. This result is well below the
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 45 mg/L-NO3 set by the US EPA. Although nitrate is a
naturally-occurring compound necessary for plant growth, it can cause health problems when
present at high levels in drinking water.
We appreciate the opportunity to work on this project. If we can be of any further assistance,
please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
r
David J.
