I . 2 (a) , 2 (b) , <br /> 2 (c) , 2 (d) , 2 (e) , 2 ( f ) , and 5 , the Department of Public Works ' <br /> Conditions of Approval No. II . 4 , Environmental Health Division ' s <br /> Conditions of Approval No. III . 2 (a) , 2 (b) , and 3 , and Sharpe <br /> Army Depot ' s Condition of Approval No . VII . 2 . <br /> APPEAL STATEMENTS/RESPONSES : <br /> Plannina Division Condition No . 1 . 2_: <br /> O� "a. A 10-foot-wide landscaped strip shall be installed adjacent <br /> to Harlan Road. This strip shall contain one tree for each <br /> 30 feet of frontage . <br /> d(� "b. One tree shall be planted for each -5-0- linear feet adjacent to <br /> the north and south property lines . <br /> bK "c. " <br /> Appeal Statement : <br /> In his appeal , Mr. Burgess states in part that "Whereas we are <br /> being required to provide both screening and planting of more <br /> than 265 trees, we find this limitation to be an undue restric- <br /> tion and unnecessary protection of the public ' s view. " <br /> Response: <br /> These landscaping requirements are similar to those generally <br /> Imposed on industrial projects . The purpose of the landscaping <br /> requirement is to ensure that industrial development within the <br /> City of Lathrop does not detract from the community' s <br /> appearance . Landscaping also provides screening from adjacent <br />
