Acramite is extremely safe to beneficial insects and
predatory mites; it has a short re-entry period in almonds; and is not a restricted use pesticide.
Acramite provides highly specific activity on targeted mite pests, including Pacific spider mites,
the dominant mite pest in almonds. In addition to Pacific spider mites, it controls a broad spectrum of
mite pests including two-spotted spider mites, European red mites (when used at maximum rate), Brown
almond mite, and others. Acramite is recommended for early use when mite populations are light,
where Acramite gives effective control of mite populations for approximately 30 days.
Acramite is most noteworthy for its proven safety to beneficial insects and predatory mites. It
has no effect on insects that are beneficial predators like Seven-spotted lady beetle, Spider mite
destroyer, Green lacewing, Minute pirate bug, and Six-spotted thrips. Research has also proven that
Acramite does not adversely affect populations of predatory mites such as Amblyseius fallacis,
Phytoseiulus persimilis, Typhlodromus pyri, and Zetzellia mall.
An additional benefit of this outstanding safety to beneficials is that Acramite can be easily
http://www.enviroag.org/Headline%20News/Acramite%20release.htm 11/22/2004
