✓5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Exeter Sandy Loam and San
Joaquin sandy loam as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided
by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
✓5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Exeter and San
Joaquin sandy loam generally have moderate and low permeability respectively. Percolation
rates were satisfactory as demonstrated by the shallow percolation results. (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
/6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
/6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow Percolation Tests was Performed for Each Parcel:
Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel.
/6.3 Description of the Date,Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole,Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
9 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel' in accordance with County
Standards. The shallow holes were prepared by Mark Wonderlich of Dillon&Murphy on
r, August 21 2006. On August 22, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The
hole was filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time Environmental Health
Department was notified of the start of the test.
/,6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole,Etc.): On
August 23, 2006 the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added to each
hole.
✓6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth,
diameter,2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests
conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02. When water was added after the 24-hour
.. soak period, it seeped away in less than 30 minutes. Per the EHD guidelines, it was determined
that the 1-hour test must be performed. The holes were refilled with 6 inches of water and
readings were taken every 10 minutes for an hour, with the holes being re-filled as necessary.
x 46.6 Complete Percolation Test Form(Including Readings)Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
DEEP TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 < 5 MINJIN.
2 <5 MINJIN.
3
c10625 Soils Suitability Report 090106
