Once the permits are approved, we propose to explore the
subsurface conditions at the site by drilling one boxing to a depth of about 10 to 20 feet below the
present ground surface or to groundwater, whichover is less. Per SICVM criteria,we will drill a
test hole at each lot to a depth of about 3.5 feet below site grade for percolation testing. Based on
previous experience in the LodMockeford area,we anticipare the soils at rhe site could consist of
moderately perrucable silty sands. However, soils in the project area tend to be variable and
could consist of clays or hard pan that will not meet tM county percolation criteria for onsite
sewage disposal; in which case, a deeper perealating sail stratum (25 feet depth maximum), if
present, would zteed to be located at each lot Once a potential do%= soil strartmt is
cacomntered,we anticipate that we will need to drill one to two Additional test holes in each lot
for percolation testing. If the near-surface soils exhibit adequate percolati m cbaracteristics, rhe
deeper percolation rests will not be performed.
After the percolation holes axe pre-soaked for a minimum 24 hour period, we will install a
perforated pipe and about 2-inches of tlean gravel at the bottom of each An approximate&inch
head of water will 1h m be placed over the gravel for percolation tudog. The water•level in the
Lest boles will be measured at approaamalcly 30-minuto intervals for four hours, refillm as
necessary to maintain the 6-incb bead of water. The last 30-minute tu:uw=cnt will be 13sed to
02001 PRIM oEasrosp202 Nw uober 14,2002
0 2002 trWoOdn,kc.
