15 April 2009
AGE-NC-09-1683
filled with water to a depth of 12 inches above the gravel at the time of 0900. Test hole TH-1 was
covered for 24 hours to allow for complete saturation.
6.4. DESCRIPTION OF THE PERCOLATION TEST HOLE -POST SOAK
On 31 March 2009 boring TH-1 was found to be completely g p y dry,but intact and in good condition.
r
6.5. PERCOLATION TEST CONFORMED TO SJC POLICY EHD 02-02
The percolation test was performed under SJCCDD Title Requirements Section 9-1105.2 (d) and
as required by SJCEHD letter dated 17 December 2008.
On 31 March 2009, test hole TH-1 was inspected by AGE prior to initiation of the percolation test
and found dry.Water was refilled to six inches above the gravel and the four-hour test initiated. The
percolation test was performed by recording the amount of water remaining in the test hole at
30-minute intervals. The water level was measured every 30 minutes for four hours and a small
volume of water added to the test hole after each measurement. The SJCEHD inspector was on-site
to observe the last one hour of the test. After recording the last measurement, the SJCEHD inspector
approved the four-hour percolation test.
Based on the field measurements collected, the percolation rate for the parcel was calculated and
summarized in Table 3.
Table 3
SOIL PERCOLATION FOR TEST HOLE TH-1
TEST NO. DIAMETER OF DEPTH OF HOLE PERCOLATION
HOLE(inches) (inches) RATE(min/in)
TH-1 (Parcel 1) 4 42 50(average)
6.6. COMPLETED PERCOLATION TEST FORM
After completion of the test, the SJCEHD inspector reviewed the field data and signed the required
SJCEHD Percolation Test Rate form.Field measurements recorded during the test are included on
the Percolation Test Rate Field Sheet provided in Appendix F.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
