Odyssey Landscape—Soil Suitability Section Page 6 of 13
Our Project Number: NA157000
March 17, 2015
Sample results are displayed in the following table:
DBC /L EDB* (ug/L Nitrate as N** m /L _
Water Sample 1 ND ND
— Water Sample 2 x 7.3
*EPA method 524.3
**EPA method 300.1
ND-non detect.
x-represents that the sample was not tested for the constituent.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets the maximum contaminant level
(MCL) for DBCP at 0.2 ug/L and for EDB at 0.05ug/L. As indicated in the foregoing
investigation, both DBCP and EDB were non detected. The EPA sets the MCL for nitrate at 10
mg/L. The nitrate level in the tested result was 7.3 mg/L, which is below the MCL. -N which is
below the MCL set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency of 10 mg/L-N.
1.5 Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The site is depicted on the Geologic Maps of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California, as
within the alluvium of the Modesto Formation2. These Pleistocene soils consist primarily of
compact silt and very fine sand (Plate 5).
The surface and near surface soils located at the site are reported by the United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA) Soil Conservation Service (Plate 6) to be composed of
Acampo sandy loam3, consisting of moderately well-drained sandy loam derived from granitic
sources.
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
_ A total of one (1) soil boring was advanced on the Site for percolation performing a percolation J
test. The location of the borings is depicted in Plate 1.
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
The soil boring was advanced to 3.25 feet bgs, as noted above, and four (4) inches in diameter. 2
1.5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
The table below presents the soil log for the soil boring.
2 USGS.Atwater, B.F.Geologic Maps of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta,Sheet 12.MF 14-01. 1982. 1:24,000.
3 USDA.
