Order No. R5-2009-0097 - 15 - <br /> Conditional Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for <br /> Small Food Processors and Small Wineries <br /> Within the Central Valley Region <br /> wastewater conveyance system. <br /> 11 . If wastewater is stored on-site prior to land application or off-site for disposal: <br /> a. Wastewater shall be fully contained so that the waste does not contact the <br /> ground. <br /> b. Wastewater shall be removed from storage tanks before capacity is reached <br /> and land-applied or transported off-site for disposal immediately upon removal. <br /> 12. Wastewater removed for off-site disposal shall be transported by a licensed <br /> septage hauler and discharged to a permitted wastewater treatment facility or <br /> septage receiving station. The Discharger shall obtain receipts from both the <br /> hauler and the receiving facility. <br /> 13. If wastewater is applied to lands <br /> a. Wastewater shall not be applied to land 24 hours before a forecasted storm, <br /> during a storm, 24 hours after a storm, or when the ground is saturated. <br /> b. Wastewater shall be applied to cropland or landscaped areas at a rate <br /> consistent with the water needs of the crop or vegetation grown in the land <br /> application area and at agronomic rates for nitrogen and other crop nutrients <br /> present in the waste. <br /> c. Wastewater shall not be applied within 25 feet of a water supply well. <br /> d. Wastewater shall not be applied within 25 feet of a surface water drainage <br /> course unless the land application area is graded or bermed to prevent <br /> discharge of runoff into the drainage course. <br /> e. Wastewater shall be evenly applied across the entire land application area. <br /> 14. If residual solids are temporarily stored on-site prior to land application or off-site <br /> for disposal: <br /> a. Residual solids shall be fully contained so that the waste does not contact the <br /> ground. <br /> b. Residual solids shall be stored such that any leachate or storm water that <br /> contacts the waste is managed as wastewater in accordance with the <br /> conditions of this Order. <br /> s For meat processors, this option is not available under this Order. <br />
