1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT:
1.1 Description of Site: The project consists of a 181 acre parcel located at
14404 E. Highway 26, Linden, CA. The subject parcel numbers are 105-020-04, 05. The
project is in an agricultural community and the existing parcel is zoned AG-40.
1.2 Description of proposed development: It is proposed to divide the 181 acre parcel into
one 5 acre parcel, three 40 acre parcels, and a 56 acre parcel. In accordance with the San
Joaquin County Development Title, this Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report (SSCR)
is being submitted for approval. This report will investigate the property for visual or
historical environment contamination based on field observation, interviews with the owner,
and county records. (This SSCR includes no chemical analysis).
1.3 Parcel Location Map: (See Appendix for Tentative Map with Vicinity Map, and APN
page).
1.4 Site Map: (See Appendix for Tentative Map).
2.0 PAST, PRESENT, AND PROPOSED FUTURE USES OF THIS SITE:
2.1 Discussion of Past, Present, and Proposed Future Uses: The primary source of
information of the historic use of this property is testimony of the owners, the Karl and Frances
Grupe Family Trust. The owners were interviewed on June 5, 2007. The Grupe Family Trust
has owned the subject parcel for more than 10 years. The land use has not changed under their
ownership.
Presently the property includes an orchard. A portion of the property has a residence, barns,
and assorted out buildings. The surrounding properties are used for agricultural purposes.
3.0 IDENTIFICATION OF ALL PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF
CONTAMINATION:
3.1 Methods Used to Research: Methods used to research this parcel were records
researched at the San Joaquin County Agriculture Commissioners office on May 23, 2007
(see appendix for results). An onsite survey performed on May 24, 2007 by Joe Murphy of
Dillon & Murphy. The owner was interviewed on June 5, 2007 by Joe Murphy. San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department's underground storage tank site mitigation database
list did not yield any findings on the subject parcel (see appendix). A search for
U.S.T./L.U.S.T sites was done on the subject parcel and yielded no findings.
1
c:\05147\Surface and Subsurface June, 2007
