E
August 31, 2006
NOA Project Number: E06091A
I 110 3.7 Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank UsageF
{ A residence exists on the property which will be inhabited regularly by five to seven Buddhist
monks. The average daily temple attendance will be approximately 10 to 25 people per day,
however, the maximum expected usage in the future will be up to a maximum of 80 attendants per
day.
4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
F1The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
C/ The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current official maps available from the county.
2. According to these maps (Plates 3-6), ground water lies between 20 and 40 feet below ground /
surface in the vicinity of the Site. The groundwater appears to flow to the south through the
immediate vicinity of the Site.
0
No ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O.Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the
drilling of a percolation test hole to a depth of 8.5 feet on August 10, 2006.
4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study.
Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources which often include
2 leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water
infiltration. Any past agricultural activities and the present use of septic systems in the area should L
be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
4.3 Water Sample Location
One wellp ermit was found for the subject property address during file review at EHD on August
15, 2006. The permit was issued to the Caffese Brothers on September 19, 1995 and is for the repair
of an existing pump.
A water sample was taken from a faucet near the well on August 8, 2006 by Mr.Jessen Welch.
(Plate 1).
4
