October 13, 2004
/NOA Project Number: E040109A
imp V3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the Site, our office reviewed
a 1993 aerial photograph of the subject property available from Microsoft Terraserver. We counted
the building clusters within one square mile of the Site, and made the assumption that each building
cluster has one septic system.
Using this method,we determined that there are 91 septic systems per square mile in the immediate
vicinity of the Site. The actual septic system density today is probably greater than 91 since
additional residences have most likely been constructed since 1993 when the aerial photo was taken.
3.5 Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
The following septic system permits were found for the vicinity of the Site during file review at
EHD on October 4, 2004:
Table 1.
Vicinity Septic System Permit Summary.
Address,Date Tank Lines,Length,Pits Comments
Capacity
12051 E.Tokay Colony,4-20-73 1,200 gal Two 100-ft leach lines,two New installation to residence.
33-in diameter by 25-ft deep
seepage pits
12233 E.Tokay Colony, 10-27-88 1,600 gal Two 85-ft leach lines,two 36- New installation to residence.
in diameter by 25-ft deep
seepage pits
12431 E.Tokay Colony,1-17-89 1,600 gal Two 85-ft leach lines,two 36- New installation to residence.
in diameter by 25-ft deep
seepage pits
12555 E.Tokay Colony,2-21-91 1,200 gal Two 85-ft leach lines,two 36- New installation to residence.
in diameter by 25-ft deep
seepage pits
12635 Tokay Colony,8-7-90 1,600 gal Three 60-ft leach lines, three New installation to residence.
42-in diameter by 25-ft deep
"
seepage pits
The septic systems in the area appear to utilize leach lines with seepage pits.
i
3
