The project consists of a plan to excavate 4.4 million <br /> cubic yards of sand and gravel over six years on 111 acres of a 137-acre site. The maximum depth <br /> of the excavation is expected to be 80 feet. The project is located east of Highway 580 and south <br /> of Corral Hollow Road, in San Joaquin County. <br /> Wildlife habitat resources consist of annual grassland habitat bordering Corral Hollow <br /> creek. Significant resources of the project include habitat for sensitive species and Corral Hollow <br /> Creek. The DFG records indicate the presence of the following species within the project vicinity: <br /> San Joaquin kit fox(Vulpes macrotis mutica) <br /> San Joaquin pocket mouse (Perognathus inornatus inornatus) <br /> burrowing owl (Speotyto cunicularia) <br /> red-legged frog (Rana aurora draytonii) <br /> western spadefoot (Scaphiopus hammondii) <br /> If the following measures are made conditions of project approval, the DFG would concur <br /> with a Finding for a Mitigated Negative Declaration pursuant to CEQA Guidelines. <br /> • The mitigation provisions for San Joaquin kit fox contained in the Biological <br /> Resources Impacts and Mitigation Analysis (pages 36 through 39), and in the Kit <br /> Fox Mitigation Plan (Appendix A) should be removed and a revised mitigation <br /> plan for San Joaquin kit fox should be provided that includes the following: <br />
