CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, the soil conditions near the percolation tests appear to be suitable for use
with on-site septic systems. Satisfactory soil percolation rates of 19.2 min/in (Parcel 1)
and 31.2 min/in (Parcel 2) were observed in the test locations. No new construction is
proposed at this time. With a satisfactory test, the area 100 feet in radius from the test
location could be used to construct a septic system drain field.
The depth of ground water based on recent aquifer levels is 22 to 36 feet, depending on
the season. The ground-water flow direction is to the southwest at a rate of
approximately five to seven feet per mile in the vicinity of the Site.
A water sample was collected from the irrigation water well on the Site. Nitrate was
detected in the water sample at a concentration of 2.2 mg/L, well below the MCL of 45
mg/L. DBCP was not detected in the water sample.
Based on the results of this study, we believe the Site has satisfied the requirements of
the Environmental Health Department for the use of standard septic systems utilizing
leach lines and sumps.
LOGE 1401 Page 8
